Poster Presentation Guidelines

The South African Pharmacy Council congratulates all accepted poster presenters for accessing the opportunity to engage delegates at the 4th National Pharmacy Conference. We have put together guidelines to ensure your presentation becomes a resounding success.

Author presence

Please be aware that, according to the 4th National Pharmacy Conference rules, at least one (1) author must be present at the poster during the poster session; otherwise, the poster will not be included in the proceedings.

Poster sessions, setup and removal

The posters will be on display in Halls 2CDEFH and 3ABC at the Durban International Convention Centre during the sessions:

Day 1: Sunday, 11 October 2026

  • 11:00 – 11:45 (45 Minutes)
  • 13:15 – 14:30 (75 Minutes)
  • 16:00 – 16:30 (30 Minutes)

Day 2: Monday, 12 October 2026

  • 10:15 – 11:00 (45 Minutes)
  • 12:30 – 14:00 (90 Minutes)
  • 15:15 – 16:15 (60 Minutes)

Day 3: Tuesday, 13 October 2026

  • 11:00 – 11:45 (45 Minutes)
  • 13:00 – 14:30 (90 Minutes)

The assigned poster programme code will be labelled on the corresponding panel.

After each poster session, posters must be removed from the panel to prepare for the next session. Posters not removed by the authors will be removed by the Conference staff and will not be stored or sent to authors.

Instructions for poster display

Each poster will be presented on one side of the poster board, with full dimensions of 48 inches wide (121.9 cm) by 96 inches high (243.8 cm).

The suggested display is an A0 page (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm) in PORTRAIT orientation on the board. Note: Avoid landscape orientation for the A0 formats, as it will be too wide to fit the poster boards.

The Conference will provide pushpins to mount posters.

Participants are asked to bring a printed copy of their poster.

Poster attendance

Official staff will check the attendance of each poster presenter, and if the presenter cannot be found, the presentation will not be included in the conference proceedings.

The presenter must be one of the authors.

Preparation of the posters

It is suggested that the posters be prepared so that they can be easily understood even in the presenter’s absence.

The general suggestions for preparing the posters are provided below:

  1. Legibility: The poster should be legible from a distance. Suggested sizes include: a minimum graph size of 20 cm, section heading letters of 25 mm, and text and figure lettering no less than 10 mm.
  2. Heading: Each display area’s general heading label should include the title, the presenter’s name, and the institution.
  3. Titles: All figures and tables should be titled.
